Glass Baby Food Jars

When babies are born, they cannot tolerate solid food, but must subsist on mother's milk or infant formula until they make the transition. However, food that comes prepared in glass food jars is preferred because of the time required for the mother to make it in the kitchen. Consultants agree that there are dangers in plastic baby foods that contain bisphenol (BPA), a chemical similar to the female hormone, estrogen. Some scientists believe that BPA causes changes in the developing brains of females between the 11th and 12th weeks, so that they become masculinized and more aggressive. Affects on early childhood behavior by such compounds and other contaminants is open to debate in the scientific community, and parents might want to consider organic products for their infants.
